Edmonton (ᐊᒥᐢᑲᐧᒋᐋᐧᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ) is in many ways a tiny little bubble of sanity in a sea of regressive conservatism.

The city has earned a reputation in Western Canada as a haven for freethinkers, non-conformists, and political idealists. Because there are so many progressives, trade unionists, activists, and LGBTQ+ folk here, it's sometimes jokingly called 'REDmonton' (for those in the USA, ‘RED’ is a reference to left-wing politics).

Honestly, we think that a lot of our friends at Worldcon would feel quite at home in Edmonton (ᐊᒥᐢᑲᐧᒋᐋᐧᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ).

We have excellent convention facilities, great restaurants, great places to see, and an amazing community.

In 2024, Lonely Planet named Edmonton one of the Top-10 cities to visit in 2025.
